Latest news from Ana the Dog lady of Guadalajara Mexico

Ana had a very difficult month. A man fell on her in a crowded bus and seriously injured her leg. At the same time, her phone was crushed — everything was disconfigured and she lost nearly all her contacts. She has only a few numbers left and doesn’t know how to recover the rest. Because the injury kept her from working, she also hasn’t had money to put credit on her phone.

To make things harder, the little she had managed to save for dog food went to an emergency: she witnessed a small puppy being run over by a motorcycle. The crying was heartbreaking, and she couldn’t turn away. After the supposed owner denied responsibility, she and a neighbor had to pull the puppy out from under a car using a broom. She used her remaining savings to buy medicines and soft food.

Here is a photo of the puppy so you can see how the puppy is doing today.

The puppy had intestinal bleeding and had eaten plastic from the street; Ana even had to pull plastic pieces from her intestines when she defecated. Thankfully, she is now improving — eating a soft diet and stabilizing little by little.

      From Ana

“She is already eating her Gerber, and she’s on medication for pain and inflammation. Her belly and intestines are improving — her stools now have only a little bit of blood. We hope to have the resources tomorrow for her X-rays; her little leg is indeed broken 💔. She’s a good furry girl — she’s on absolute rest and she understands, and she’s very clean — she cries when she needs to go to the bathroom 👍.”

Ana’s plan is to take her to Dr. Omar for X-rays as soon as she can gather enough for the radiographs, so they can determine whether surgery or another treatment is possible.
